I've spent the past 3 months in a tear of finding new ways of cooking and eating and moving and breathing. I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes three years ago, and in late January I had a big scare with blood sugars over 500, trip to the hospital, now on insulin.Every single doctor, nurse practitioner and well-meaning family member says LOSE WEIGHT NOW ASK ME HOW. But I am a survivor of over 20 years of intentional weight loss attempts and that whole definition of insanity thing comes into play right about here.
I named this blog incarn8 (incarn-ate, get it?) because reclaiming my body from the diet pushers and from my own internalized fat hatred is inextricably tied up with reclaiming my connection to God. I am an incarnate being, God loves incarnate beings, I love God. That's about as far as I've gotten so far.
"Healthy" is most definitely NOT in the eye of the beholder. Rather it is an experience of life that, like pron, we know it when we feel it.
